#BeUnashamedlyAuthenticallyYou

I was feeling super emotional a couple of days ago, whereby anything and everything was bringing tears to my eyes, and then I’d laugh at the absurdity of it all. I’m sure from the outside I must have seemed like a mad woman.
I say this often, we’re all human and we all experience emotion, yet we’re often only sharing the pretty happy side of life, but I really think it’s important to share the sad moments too, otherwise we’re all looking at everyone elses picture perfect life and thinking they have it so much better than us. Followed by resistance to sharing the sadness because it’s not socially acceptable, or we don’t want to bring other people down, or simply because we’re embarrassed and ashamed that we don’t have it all figured out.

I call bullshit.

Sometimes the emotions come first, sometimes the thoughts come first.  Whichever it is, is irrelevant, the point is we feel it which makes it real in our experience.

For me yesterday I was having some serious resistance to working. I have this wonderful to-do list of all the steps I would like to take to support me in moving towards my dreams; and it simply requires me following them. So simple on the surface, yet lately, I’ve had some serious resistance coming up.  Procrastinating and distracting myself, making puzzles, walking around aimlessly, or just sitting infront of my laptop screen internally saying “I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to do this!”

On one side I recognize I put so much pressure on myself, to achieve so much; to be awesome to succeed. Recently it has been brought to my awareness that I set very high standards of goals to achieve, I want to be the best! I want it to be perfect. While at the same time I’m often throwing myself out there when I’m so far from perfect. I’m impatient. I want it all and I want it now. Anyhow, sometimes these high goals I’ve set myself immobilize me in fear; and the voices come along: “who the hell am I to think I can achieve such things? What qualifies me? I’m not good enough…” I’ve set the bar so high, that moving forward is terrifying!

I also have this fear of making the wrong choice, what if this isn’t what I want? Why am I putting all thise time, effort, and energy into something that I have no idea what it will be like in the end? What if I discover that actually my path is a different one? Because this has happened plenty; I jump into things, and I jump all in, and then change my mind. I was a jewelry maker for a while, a potter, a hippie ;P And then, I change my mind, and we’re back at square one. So now I have this Fear of commitment coming up: what if I make the wrong choice? What if I lose my freedom?

Intellectually I know, I’ve got to try to find out. That I’ve got to fail sometimes in order to succeed eventually. I know that I learn so much from all the activities I partake in, that the skills I learn when trying one thing out are often transferable to other projects I do later on. Still, I’m human, I have my doubts.
There are some days that I’m so sure of myself and what I want to do, I’m motivated, and inspired. While other days I’m terrified of making the wrong choice and so full of self-doubt.

So, what am I even trying to share here?

I’m human. You’re human. We all go through these motions, yet none of it is any reason to hold back. None of us is perfect all the time. We try things, and sometimes we kickass and sometimes we don’t. It really doesn’t matter, so enjoy the fucking journey. My solution was to loosen up a little, to not force myself to do what I was having resistance to doing and instead do something that I really wanted to do, that was fun and exciting me. Also changing my routine up a little bit, was super helpful. And thirdly, changing working environment. Sometime just moving place, changing routine, it shifts any stagnant energy and creates space for fresh ideas and inspiration.

I also wanted to share this story to recognize that none of us is happy all the time. We are all figuring it out as we go along, and the more we put ourselves out there, try new things, carve new pathways, create this new way of living and being.. The more we open ourselves up, the more vulnerable we are, and in this process we open ourselves up to feeling greater peeks of happiness, joy, and fulfilment ; while also opening ourselves up to feeling greater lows. Which is OK. It is ok. So much more than ok. In fact, it’s wonderful. It’s part of life; yet we need to talk about it.

There’s the part of me that rolls her eyes at myself and goes “oh mirin, there she goes again blabbing on about feeling emotions and talking about herself again, what does anybody care?”. While at the same time there’s the part of me that recognizes just how important it is to share all of it with everyone. Not just me, but all of us. By being vulnerable we support each other; simply by sharing our true authentic selves we support others in sharing their truths. We give each other permission to be honest and vulnerable; to be human and not  some idealistic unrealistic version of perfect all the time. All our quirks and imperfections are what make us perfect; and this lightens the load for everyone, connecting us more, connecting us deeper.
And really that’s one of the great issues we are currently working through on this planet. In this day of super technological development, where in theory we’re more connected than ever virtually. So many are feeling an element of disconnect: with many superficial connections but a lack in deep meaningful connection. We’re moving away from the mentality of competition and moving towards collaboration.
It is safe to be you. It is safe to be vulnerable. To share. You don’t need to be anyone other than you.

Which brings me back to my mission on this planet, for we all have something unique to share with the world, and it can be a journey in trying to find that. It takes deep intimacy with self to begin with, which requires us feeling safe and letting go of shame (a whole other discussion in itself!)

#BeUnashamedlyAuthenticallyYou

None of us has it all figured out. No matter how pretty one’s Instagram feed is, how picture perfect it all looks. All of us have our down days, the awkward moments, the times we mess up. And personally, I think it’s just as important to share the quirky f**k up moments as the picture perfect moments.

Life is for living, so live it wholeheartedly

What is Healing?

Picture
Healing as a return to wholeness; mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

All of our life experiences, from the moment of conception to the present moment, are what shape us and make us who we are today. Inherently the body knows how to heal itself, yet due to our life experiences sometimes we can forget. Trauma happens and the bodies (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) can store this in a variety of shapes of form, resulting in dis-ease.

Dis-ease implies a sense of unease - or a disconnect - either with self, other or life itself; though dis-ease in one area is likely to result in dis-ease in other.

From a holistic perspective (considering the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), ease in BEing, will manifest as a grounded mind, a healthy loving and nurturing relationship with oneself, which in turn shall be reflected in the relationship with others and all aspects of life (work, home, food, processes, etc.). A connection with oneself, and in turn the ability to share this in a healthy manner with others.
To be healthy is to be in balance, to be at ease with what is actually happening, and the willingness to experience this in its entirety, rather than running away or avoiding.
Thus supporting us in flourishing in all aspects of our life, so that we may become the fullest expression of who we can be.

Healing from a holistic perspective, is not but the elimination of the symptoms, but getting to the root cause of the problem; often recognizing that there is no problem but rather approaching it as a tool or catalyst for growth and transformation.

Furthermore all the bodies are interconnected, they are what make us a whole; and therefore the physical will affect the mental, the emotional will impact the physical and so on. For sometimes a sore throat can be the result of not expressing oneself, or stress might be the result of physical discomfort.

Often at the very root of dis-ease is a disconnect, and therefore healing can be approached as a reconnect with self and other.

Love is the message

Picture
At the end of the day the message is Love.

Love thyself first and foremost, and in turn this shall reflect itself into every aspect of your life. At the very core of all our relationships, is our relationship with ourself.

So what is this Love?

It’s an understanding, a showing of compassion, of accepting and embracing, of allowing. A connection. It’s living at ease with ourselves, allowing ourselves to be fully and freely. Beyond imposing ideas of who we ought to be. Beyond judging ourselves.

Love.
Such a small word, yet encompassing so much; and then again so simple. Yet so often it is not something we are taught, it is something we learn, and the journey, could be neverending.
For we are human, we experience a whole array of emotions, and we have so many deeply engrained habits of reacting. That unlearning can be quite a process, yet one that anyone can undergo.
It can be quite a surprise to realize how disconnected we can be from ourself. How critical. How harsh. How berating.

To feel that deep intimacy with ones self is where it all begins.
Yet how to get there? It’s a journey into ones self, a returning home. Sometimes its oh so painful as we uncover deeper and deeper layers of ourselves; revealing piece by piece. Sometimes we feel so exposed, so vulnerable, as if we’re being torn apart from the inside out. While other times it can be ecstatic, feeling that deep deep connection, that immersion in being, in experience. For that is life; there is dark and there is light, yet they coexist together. We can disconnect and go to that middle place, that limbo land we’re we might feel mild happiness or mild sadness, where we numb ourselves a little bit yet deep down there’s something that really doesn’t not feel right, that yearning that we just cant quite put our finger on it, yet it gnaws at us slowly, gradually, becoming bigger and bigger. Sometimes so big causing physical or mental disease.
And that’s the point, we have all these different aspects to ourselves: the physical, the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual. Call it spiritual, or just call it that deep sense of knowing, that understanding, that connection, that purpose, that belonging, that peace, that ease. Any unbalance in one area, will result in unbalance in other areas; while also balance in one area can also cause balance in other areas. We can affect the mental by affecting the physical; we can affect the emotional by affecting the spiritual, and so on.

Of course we are human and we can’t always be in balance. Everything is always changing, everything is moving, things are shifting, so the balance will constantly be in flux. So constant happiness in the more traditional sense is impossible. Smiling, laughing, being merry is unsustainable 24/7; yet we can come to be at more ease with the fluctuations. We can learn to become more aware of our inner workings so as to intelligently influence our BEingness for the most positive outcomes.

It is always a matter of trial and error; for it is only through direct experience that we can truly embody that knowledge into wisdom. That deep inner knowing. For it is the most sustainable, and the most influential when how we live comes from that deep place of inner knowing.
And we won’t always get it right, we have to experiment with so many variables that a whole variety of outcomes will come about. Yet when we truly allow ourselves to experience all of it; the good and the bad; then we can really learn; and then we can truly learn to act in the most truly beneficial and nurturing way so that we can be the best versions of ourselves.

And again; it is very unlikely to always be a smooth ride; there is always more to learn, deeper layers to uncover; about ourselves and humanity. Yet the overall experience, the overall satisfaction of knowing you are doing/being the very best you can, really leaves that deep deep overall satisfaction with life.

Soul Expressions

The aspects of ourselves that we access when we recognize that there is so much more to us than this little I; when we step beyond this illusion of separateness, and realize that we are capable of so much more than we realize beyond this physical reality.
Embracing all that we are. Embracing all we can BE.

Picture
As Human Beings we are such intricate creatures. There are so many elements that make us who we are today; our upbringing, our schooling, our friends, our environment, our culture, our work, even the time spent in the womb leaves it’s trace. Every single event, every single person we come into contact with leaves their mark in some shape or form, to whatever degree that may be.
Furthermore that which is to be impacted is the physical, the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual. We consist of our physical body; our features, our shape, the color of our skin. We have our thoughts, the quality of thoughts, whether they are erratic jumping form one thing to the  next, and the tendencies of our thoughts (worrying, learning, analyzing, fantasizing, etc.). We experience emotions, our habitual emotions,  or perhaps our subconscious tendencies to manipulate others. Then we might experience some sense of spirituality; a greater sense of self, a sense of purpose, a sense of being a part of something larger than the individual, the recognition that what we say, what we do impacts others.
Picture
A great fascination of mine is what it means to be human, why we are who we are, and how we can grow to be the fullest expressions of who we are. We all have so much potential, we all have something so unique to share with this world.
So what is the soul?
Perhaps it’s this aspect of ourselves that transcends the physical, that recognizes and realizes just how great our potential can be. That we have access to so much more than we might realize upon this physical material plane.
It’s the recognition of all of the energetic components at play and that we are sensitive to this energetic web that we are a essential part of.  That as we begin to recognize and honor these aspects of ourselves that are beyond the mind, we grow, expand, and flourish. Uncovering deeper and deeper layers of ourselves, while manifesting more and more.  We begin to access all this potential, and become more and more at ease with ourselves and thus in turn, with life.

Soul Expressions.

That these expressions are beyond the small I, and begin to encompass the whole. We begin to realize we are a part of a much larger interweb, an essential part which is incessantly impacting us, and which we are also continuously impacting.

So yes, indeed, Soul Expressions; it’s a continuous, never ending journey, the explorations we can undergo to discover more and more what this might mean, and how this might manifest itself.

So this shall be the theme that is explored in my upcoming exhibition, Soul Expressions.

Opening at The Café at Stephen Pearce Pottery in Shanagarry, on the evening of the 11th of August at 7.30 pm. For the evening the café shall be running a joint event serving/selling delicious platters of cheese and cured meats accompanied by a selection of wines. So come and join us for an evening of nurturing body and soul! Or even just for the vibrant inspiring art and a complementary glass of Sangria. See you there!

Vibrational BEing

In essence, we are all vibrating particles, right? If we really break anything down; be it a fan, a piece of wood, a tree, our skin, a rock, anything! at the very core we’re these little vibrating particles all vibrating at different frequencies; thus meaning, whatever frequency one is vibrating at it will therefore attract people and situations vibrating at a similar frequency.
Furthermore, if we choose to perceive life from this perspective it would become apparent that we are immersed in this interconnected web of vibration. That we are in this sea of vibrating particles, and that two elements vibrating next to each other are bound to impact one another.
My first upcoming exhibition is entitled exactly this “vibrational Being”.
Picture
So what does this mean? It’s experiencing life in its fluidity, for indeed change is the only constant in this beautiful thing we call life.
Change, change, change!
It is inevitable, yet for some reason we do like to solidify things, hold onto things, create some sort of permanence; yet it is when we resist the natural flows of life, when we try to solidify that which is fluid; that is when tension occurs, that is how we create suffering for ourselves. The more we resist that which is actually happening, the more we create that which we desire to eliminate.
Vibrational Being is a recognition that there is so much more to us than meets the eye, it is a recognition that in essence we are vibration. It is a recognition that different vibrations carry a different frequency, and that at different moments in life we each have our own frequency. That when we operate at a higher frequency, it is expressed in everything we say and do, we are lighter, and thus  attract others and situations vibrating at that same frequency. It is also a recognition of the opposite; that when we are vibrating at a lower frequency we are denser/heavier, and will attract people and situations vibrating at that same frequency.
When we see and experience this we come to recognize that we are a part of this much larger web, and that everything we say or do, impacts so many others; at the same time it becomes evident that we are influenced by so many variables, so many other people, situations, moments; there is so much at play that makes us who we are in each and every moment.
In essence this is what I hope to express in the collection which I shall be exhibiting in Cork this coming month. A reminder that we are energetic Beings,  and an essential part of a  much larger interconnected web.

August Exhibitions

7/8/2017

Time is flying, the momentum is building, and I’m both excited and petrified – well, petrified might be a bit of a dramatization, but definitely scared or nervous!

So, next month I shall be having my first two exhibitions here in Cork. Yay! Very excited, and super grateful for all the support I’m getting in the organization of these. Little shout out to Rachel Marsden from the Great Creative Life, for her support along this journey; and my dearest mama for all her help in so many ways, and all my wonderful buddies for Being the wonderful supportive BEings that they are. =)

The two collections are selections from my painting journey over the past 7 years!! - I am totally baffled that it has been 7 years? Yet the canvas’s would beg to differ, so here we are, 7 years in, and really appreciating to be able to see the evolution of it. Even more exciting are the current pieces I’m working on, however, that will have to be for next year =)
Picture
The first exhibition is entitled Vibrational BEing, and shall be taking place in Cork city from the 7th of August until the 4th of September at the Web WorkHouse on Winthrop street. This collection contains more abstract, and portrays the interconnected energetic nature of life. To summarize it.

While the second exhibition entitled Soul Connection, shall be taking place from the 11th of August until the 4th of September, at the café at Stephen Pearce Pottery. This collection on the other hand is more focused on the human experience, the realization that we are both human and divine creatures; and that when we choose to access it, our potential is unlimited.

I grew up running around my dads pottery, playing spies with  my buddies, hiding amidst bales of hay and then sneaking off to interrogate the poor staff. Throwing clay around the place at pretend weddings. Insisting on being allowed to assist in the sales process and play with the till. So I’m truly grateful to be exhibiting here at my roots!
Picture
It’s quite empowering to know that I can share my art, for that is half of the process, sharing it with others so that they can gain insight, beauty, momentary immersion into the now, or whatever it is they have to take from it. Yet at the same time I’m quite scared that I’m going to end up falling flat on my face. Not quite literally, but more or less figuratively. Painting is my greatest passion, my favourite medium for sharing myself, and we all know how important I believe it is that we express and share ourselves with the world.
Yet this is truly from the heart, it’s me baring my heart and soul, exposing myself; and I’m slightly nervous.
Fears of failure, of rejection, of shame, inadequacy..
Yet, what’s the worst that could happen?
This is part of the process  though, constantly putting ourselves out there, over  and over, and over again. Not just me, but for all of us, in this journey of growing, expanding, and becoming the fullest expressions of ourselves.  Sometimes things turn out as we hope, while other times they do not. It’s trying new things, it’s being brave, stepping outside our comfort zone, and it is though that, that we grow.

Meditation - say what?!

5/12/2017

Comments

Meditation, say what?!
The art of meditation is the current theme of my creative endevours.
I hear it all the time people telling me they can’t meditate, when what they mean is they can’t quieten the mind. Guess what? Neither can I for extended periods of time, and by extended periods of time I probably mean more than a few seconds.
Seriously though; meditation is not quietening the mind.

Say what?!

I repeat, meditation is not quietening the mind; but rather becoming intimate with our experience, intimate with the nature of the mind, intimate with sensation.
And by intimacy I do not mean kissing and canoodling, I mean developing a relationship with. Becoming familiar. Gaining insight, and understanding. Being honest. Being compassionate.
It’s sitting with oneself and attending what is happening fully. So, if there are thoughts, being aware of the thoughts, yet once we realize that is what’s happening, coming back to attend our experience without being taken away and lost in thought.
It’s allowing for that which is actually happening to happen, to experience it, to meet the present moment with our full attention. To shine the light of awareness back upon itself.

Say what?!

It’s not trying to do or to achieve, it’s BEing. It’s allowing. It’s experiencing.
It’s setting the intention to BE with the present moment.
It’s slowing down, though it may not feel like it, as we’re suddenly aware of the 20 000 thoughts we have running around our mind all at once.
Yet it is, and with practice it evolves and develops, we change. Ever so subtly, and overtime. But we do, as what we learn in meditation, however subconsciously, gradually trickles through into our everyday lives; and we begin to be more present in our daily situations. As we begin to attend the moments with our full attention. As we begin to really BE, truly immersing ourselves in the Here & Now.

Stream OF CONSCIOUSNESS

3/11/2017

Comments

It’s coming back to basics. Remembering that all of it matters: every moment, each conversation, glance, smile, tone of voice, action.. all of it, has meaning, all of it leaves an impact; while at the same time none of it matters at all. Lay down the self importance, take it lightly, none of it is all that serious.

Life is a series of contradictions when you break it down; the opposite of most statements can often be true, depending on circumstance. There are no rules, while at the same time it is useful to follow what feels right (as long as it doesn’t harm others!).

We are who we are. Our past experiences moulding and shaping us so that we become who we are today; yet then we go on to ponder who the hell are we anyway? Am I my thoughts? Am I my actions? Am I who I spend my time with? Am I where I’m from? Am I my mother? My father? My brother? My sister? Am I my education? Am I my skills? …
Who the hell are we? Is it set in stone? Is there such thing as destiny?

Thoughts, thoughts, we can ponder, going round and round. Only to find, that it’s all just thought. Sometimes we believe some things, then in other moments our point of view is turned around, as new belief systems are set in place.
What theoretically ought to feel right, doesn’t always feel right. We are intricate, complex, creatures, does any of it make sense?

In this search to understand, to comprehend; to find ourselves whilst losing the sense of self at the same? Paradoxical to say the least; yet isn’t that what’s going on here? For some, perhaps, while others attempt to establish themselves more and more, in an attempt to be somebody, to be a name, a brand, to represent something.

Yet life is fluid, as we morph from one shape to the next, moment to moment, beyond our comprehension. So what? So what? So what?
Why? Why ? Why?

Why do we do what we do, make the decisions we make, believe that which believe?

You might wonder why waste your time wondering? Why bother? Who cares? We are who are right?
So true too! So relevant, for we couldn’t be any other way. Yet at the same time if we choose to understand ourselves more, to grasp a better idea of who we are, whilst at the same time realize the potential for who we could be is also infinite, well then.. well then what?

Understanding human nature, realizing how similar we are, how we are all capable of the same emotions, and if we were the other person, having lived through all their experiences we would be exactly them.

So then? So then what? What does it matter? Who gives a damn?
Well I do! I most certainly do!

Yet, who is this I that you speak of?

Reconnecting with Intuition

3/3/2017

Comments

The alchemy of spirit. The magic that happens when the search begins. It comes as a calling for something more, a longing for connection. To FEEL Alive. To reconnect with that which we’ve forgotten, to reconnect with both ourselves and life itself.

We ALL know there’s so much more to life than that which meets the eye. Embrace it darling, embrace that truth, embrace that calling. Listen. It’s hard to hear, to accept that there isn something so inherently off with the life we’re living. Be brave, listen. It’s truth.

Listen to the calling, the whispers, the inklings.. some like to call it intuition.. what it is a deep knowing, beyond logic and rational.

If we’re not familiar with it, it requires becoming acquainted with, familiarising it. Yet we have all experienced it; that moment when we get this gut feeling that we should make a certain decision, yet the rational mind tells us otherwise, so we go with the rational mind only later to regret it saying “I knew it!” So why didn’t you listen?

It takes courage at the beginning, being brave, and jumping. When we’re so used to operating from the rational mind, from logic, it takes guts to defy it, to not listen, and to trust that deep internal knowing. At the beginnings its leaps of faith, yet the more we experience that those leaps of faith lead us in the right direction, the more faith we have, the more we trust, the more we realize that that deep internal knowing is truth. That we can trust ourselves, that we can trust our intuition.

It’s deeply empowering to be able to trust ones self; to reconnect with that aspect of ourselves, to reconnect with ourselves fullstop.

So what tools can we use for this? The first most essential part of the process, is practice, practice, practice! As with anything, the more we practice, the more familiar it becomes, the more innate it becomes. It requires trust, being brave, become acquainted with yourself.

A great tool that I began to use was feeling it in the body. I’d say no and feel how that felt in the body, and then say yes and feel how that felt in the body. For me the sensation is more present in the chest, no had a heavier feeling while yes had a lighter more tingly sensation. It will probably feel different for you, so check it out.
Then I progressed to asking myself yes and no questions to questions I knew the answer to so “is my name john?” “is my birthday in January?” “do I have 2 siblings?” and became familiar with the sensations when the answer was no or yes. Once I was familiar with the sensations I learned to apply this tool to everyday life when I’m struggling to find an answer to a question or struggling to make a decision, or simply am not quite sure about the decision I’m making.

So there you go, that’s an exercise I recommend trying. An empowering one at that, as you’re giving the power back yourself, not relying on anyone or anything else. Coming back to the body, coming back to your personal experience. Learning to trust yourself. Reconnecting with yourself. Which is what healings all about right?

What's happening in our subconscious?

2/6/2017

Comments

I did a brief talk recently on the concept of life is what you make it, if you haven't already check it out!
Sounds easy enough right? Yet the reality is it’s not as easy as it sounds! There is so much going on in the subconscious,  thoughts, beliefs that we aren’t aware of. Habits and ways of being that are deeply ingrained that take work to let go of.

So what does that mean? And how do we recognize these? And most importantly how do we let go of them?
Now, not that it’s a terrible struggle to get there, but it takes time, willingness, patience, and shitloads of self Love. Always. Always. Always. Not matter what you do, how you do it, this attitude of self Love will make every step of the way easier, and is essential in living a satisfied happy life; an extremely valuable (learned) skill.

So what are we talking about? We are talking about all these subconscious beliefs; some inherited from our parents, some reactions we’ve developed to cope with life easier, habits that we are often totally unaware of. Beliefs that stand in our way of becoming the best fullest version of ourselves. Before we can move forward into being our best version, into manifesting our dreams in reality; we must recognize these so that we can do whatever it is we need to do to come to terms with them and let gooooo and let flow!

Patience patience patience. All is coming. Trust the process, because change isn’t always obvious as it’s happening, yet I promise you that doesn’t mean nothing is happening!

So how do we become aware of the subconscious?
Self awareness is an extremely useful tool, a learned habit, with immense benefits.

We have so many ideas about who we are that this can stand in the way of us seeing who we actually are in reality. We need to learn to recognize these beliefs, these patterns, these thoughts, so that we can let go! So the we can grow! So that we can BE the fullest version of ourselves!

There are so many practices that take us there. Mindfulness, meditation, yoga, psychedelic psychotherapy, plant medicine,.. Yet none of these practices on their own will get us there, they take our cooperation, and our willingness to do the work. The work isn’t hard either, it’s not a chore, especially if it means becoming the fullest version of yourself. It isn’t always easy, and sometimes it makes no sense; but I promise you it is worth it!

We need to recognize who we already are before we can become we need to be.

So yes. Practice, practice, practice, all is coming!
Find a practice that works for you, play with a few different ones, find a teacher you can relate to; and if at first you don’t like it or it doesn’t work, give it a few shots before giving up. Be brave. Try something new, step out of your comfort zone, for that is where growth happens. If we continue to do what we’ve always done in the same ways we always have, how on earth can we expect to grow? (At any significant rate anyway.)
Find a practice that encourages you to look at yourself, to reveal yourself, to see yourself more clearly; and most importantly that overall you enjoy and isn’t a burden.

Going on retreat can be a great kickstarter for any process, as you’re really immersed, and the benefits become really evident as you are so focused. Sharing the journey with others can also help you realize that we’re all going through similar versions of the same things! Yet don’t be surprised if it isn’t exactly the same when you go home. On retreat you’re in a protected environment, there is so much possibility for growth, your focus is completely on your own development. That doesn’t mean it isn’t valid or useful, you get to experience what is possible; and the possibilities are infinite from there.

So go ahead. Be brave. Give it a shot! We only live once ;)

Love Love Love!
